Rink Project
It has been brought to the Community Association's attention that the existing ice rink facilities are in dire need of renovations and repairs. There for it has been planned that the existing rink shelter be replaced with a brand new one. James Gosteli has been working on designing the new Rink Shelter and has come up with some preliminary concept drawings. The structural engineer should be completely by Fall 2010 at which point material quotations can be acquired. Since Fall/Winter is a busy time for Harvest, it will be best to start this project in Spring of 2011.
The new shelter will feature items such as Infrared Heating, plexi-glass windows and a swinging hockey style door for access to the ice. This will make those extra frosty evenings on the ice, a little more enjoyable with an opportunity to warm up between skating.
Many of the aging rink boards are in need of replacement as well, so a solution is being researched. But in the meantime, we will likely be calling upon our many community volunteers to assist with the construction of the new Rink facility. If you have any questions or comments regarding the new Ice Rink, please contact James Gosteli via the Contact Page.
